The Fastfoot® Monopour System uses the ICF block itself to form the footing, thereby eliminating all footing forming lumber, stakes, cold joint and double pour. Special MP Supports suspend the ICF blocks above the ground at the required footing height. There are two types of supports available:
Side supports are screw attached to the outside of the ICF block, using the attachment plastic flange as the attachment means. These supports are compatible with all horizontal ICF blocks. They consist of a sheet metal attachment flange, 1/2" diameter adjuster, and an injection-molded foot pad that doubles as the rebar chair for the footing steel.
A 6mm hex bit with a 12" extender (available from Fab-Form) is used with a variable speed portable drill for the height adjustment. Pairs of side supports are located 6' on center along the foundation wall.
Standard side support (7" adjuster - for footing depths from 7" to 12"):
Extended Side Support (11" adjuster - for footing depths from 11" to 16"):
Internal supports hold the tie of the ICF block. These supports are compatible with Logix®, Amvic® and SuperForm®. They consist of a sheet metal bracket which supports the plastic tie, two 1/2"x24" coil rod uprights, two 1/2" coil nuts, sleeves and a base angle which rests on the ground. These supports are recommended for stem walls and are less expensive than the side supports.
Adjustment is done with a 3/4" open ended spanner. Internal supports are located 6' on center.
Internal supports (specify wall thickness of 6" or 8"):
Two types of bracing systems can be used with the Fastfoot® monopour system:
Vertical bracing is where the primary contact with the wall is a vertical member. Conventional ICF bracing systems have a vertical member as the primary contact member. The braces are placed directly on top of the MP Side Support, and a small brace is placed on the opposite side of the base of the wall to prevent any movement from scaffolding loads.
Fab-Form manufactures a lightweight 'horizontal' bracing system
where the primary contact with the wall is a horizontal 2x4,
similar to conventional bracing used on plywood wall forms. The
system consists of 'zonts' (horizontal brackets), 'zuckles'
(turnbuckles) and 2x4s.
Zonts are special brackets screw attached to the ICF wall which hold the horizontal waler to the side of the wall (to obtain horizontal alignment). The vertical strongback is attached with a single screw through the slotted hole.
Zuckles are inexpensive turnbuckles made from a side support and an end-bracket.
